Bus travel hit its high point in the 1940's after the world war. This location stood the test of time and still serves the same function that it did in the Golden Years of travel on Highway 99W.

This location sports a vintage neon sign that is in perfect working order. It is located at 153 NW 4TH Ave on the Highway 99W route through Corvallis. Highway 99W served the West Coast from the border of Mexico to the Canadian border.
As near as I can tell bus service along Highway 99W began in 1921 after a consolidation of several bus companies created the company. That company was renamed Pacific Greyhound Lines in 1930. Another consolidation in 1957 created the Western Division of Greyhound. Source: INTERCITY BUS ROUTES - HISTORY
"The former route of U.S. Route 99 in Oregon mostly follows routes currently signed as Oregon Route 99, 99E, and 99W. The primary exception is from the California-Oregon state border north to Ashland, Oregon, where U.S. 99 is currently named Old Highway 99 S from the state border to exit 6 of Interstate 5. The former route is coterminous with Interstate 5 from exit 6 to the junction of Oregon Route 99 in Ashland." Source: Wikipedia
