The Aire Crown Forest used to be called Cantigny Woods up through 1961. This was changed partially to eliminate confusion with the McCormick's First Division site out in Wheaton. The forest is located in the western suburbs of Chicago on LaGrange Road near I55. There are picnic areas, a small lake and bike/bridle paths. Ample nearby parking.
199 Americans were killed in the Cantigny battle, the first victory won by Americn troops in WW1.
