Heading through the old stagecoach roads in the New Jersey Pine Barrens, this painted turtle was taking a leisurely stroll across Coopers Road in what used to be Lebanon State Forest (now called Brendan Byrne Forest).

This section of road crosses over the MacDonald Branch of the Mullica River. This painted turtle was in the road, and luckily, Gordie spotted him before we got too close.
