From Texas: A Guide to the Lone Star State:
"Here the highway crosses Vince's Bayou. It was at a now almost inaccessible point about a mile downstream (L) that Vince's Bridge was destroyed by Deaf Smith and others, by command of General Houston - a strategic move to delay the arrival of Mexican reinforcements."
The area in which Vince's Bridge is now accessible, thanks to roads built for local industry. The bridge was located somewhere near the current bridge, and there is a marker at this location to attest to the fact, but it's exact position is unknown.
