Designed in 1893 by H.C. Cook & Co., this was the first building of the Magnolia Brewery complex. Although it doesn’t brew beer anymore, you can still get a cold one here.

This building housed the Magnolia Café, the tap room for the Magnolia Brewery complex. The building was restored in 1967 with much of the original interior, including the floor and wall tiles and the cypress frames surrounding the leaded glass windows. Inside, on the second floor, Corinthian columns support the circular rotunda you can see from the outside. The other remaining portion of the brewery complex, the
Houston Ice & Brewing Company Building, is just around the corner.
