The Ottawa Toll House was one of handful of toll houses along the I & M Canal. In order to collect the toll from passing barges, the caretaker had to swivel a turning bridge for the barge to continue.

This toll house has been moved from its original location - but still along the I&M Canal - and has been updated with modern equipment to help maintain this historic structure for interpretative purposes.
