It took 4 years to build this 6 mile stretch of railway between the two towns it finally opened in 1903. During the 1950’s the railway was being used less and less, the final train left Budleigh Salterton station for Exmouth at 7.23pm on March 4th 1967. The line was opened in 1997 as a cycleway.
