First Energy Park is just off exit 89 on the New Jersey Parkway. Having a minor league field in our hometown is great! Minor league games make an affordable and fun day for families. The Lakewood BlueClaws, a Single A Affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, call this stadium home. The BlueClaws moved to Lakewood in 2001 from Fayetteville, North Carolina, where they had been known first as the Fayetteville Generals and later as the Cape Fear Crocs.
The stadium is laid out nicely, there are no "bad" seats. The bleacher styles seats are laid out like a horseshoe, with a lawn behind the diamond. The stadium is small enough that everyone can see the action well, but big enough for all the thrills. Executive suites are available too, on the top tier.
Next time you think about taking the family to a ballgame, consider the cost of tickets at a major league game, then add in the cost of the major league stadium refreshments and parking. This is a much more affordable alternative, the kids will have just as much fun, and you don't have to drive as far.
