This caboose now red in color was originally green and was in BN colors when it was first placed here.

Located at the former Burlington Northern freight and passenger depot, this red caboose appears to be used currently as a storage unit or small office. Originally the line that served this location was the Oregon Electric Railway.

When it was first placed here the caboose wore the green colors of Burlington Northern. A photo by Robert Ulberg here (visit link) shows the caboose in its original paint scheme. According to a noted caboose historian the original numbering of this unit was BN 12204 when it was built in July of 1978. The caboose was renumbered BN 12561 when rebuilt October of 1990. The caboose is a 30' in length and is X-Vis body style extended vision caboose made of steel.
