Located at the end of Buchanan Street in Albany, this informal park was formerly the site of the town dump. After the dump closed, it became a homeless encampment and site for impromptu, outsider art created out of found pieces of garbage. Now it is officially a park with a couple of miles of rugged trails and is still is home to a large amount of art--some is breathtaking, some prosaic, and some just weird. Graffiti and creating art seem to be part of the park's program.
Dogs are unofficially allowed off-leash and at the nearby beach.
Coordinates posted are for the nearest public parking. The exit off of I-80 is Marin Street/Buchanan Street.
