This 160-foot windmill is the focal point for Great River Energy's "sustainable energy" headquarters building. GRE is an electric-utility cooperative that serves much of Minnesota and parts of western Wisconsin.
The entire campus is a study in energy efficiency and sustainable features, and the wind turbine is the most visible feature of all. Public walking paths and informative plaques describe GRE's energy efforts all around the building, and anyone who walks the trails here will find themselves directly at the base of this impressive windmill.
Please check out the enclosed picture of the wind turbine's plaque for more information about it's use and capabilities. Thanks!
