Fountain sculpted by San Francisco artist Ruth Asawa in 1972. The bronze fountain is covered with small figures illustrating the rich history of San Francisco. Figures were originally sculpted by SF schoolchildren out of bread dough and then cast in bronze by the artist and assembled into plaques to cover the fountain.
