Fountain is located in front of the main offices of Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU). Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU) is a multi-service utility owned by the City of Gainesville and is the 5th largest municipal electric utility in Florida.
They provide electric, natural gas, water, wastewater and telecommunications services to approximately 89,000 retail and wholesale customers in Gainesville and surrounding unincorporated areas. Their combined services make GRU the most comprehensive utility service provider in the state. As an engaged participant in a progressive community, they are committed to becoming a national leader in energy efficiency.
GRU, through a designated formula, provides funding to the General Fund of the City of Gainesville. These funds help support City services such as police and fire protection, parks and recreation.
The Administration Building is located at 301 SE 4th Avenue. Cashiers and customer service representatives are available in the lobby from 8 AM - 5 PM, except weekends and holidays. Drive-Thru service is available 7:30 AM - 7 PM, except weekends and holidays.
