This is a beautiful memorial comprised of a bronze plague embedded in a 3x4 foot vertical granite rock that rests on a marble and natural rock foundation. An unusual feature in this memorial is that the barbed wire below the face of the POW/MIA is made of stainless steel or sterling silver wire.
Also located within this memorial grove is a Vietnam war memorial, a World War II memorial, a Korean war memorial, and a memorial to those who have given their lives in the current War on Terror. Nevada County has lost 3 servicemen in the current war. Sadly, they have left room to add more names to this memorial.
