In the 1990s the Oregon State Fairgrounds was faced with a common problem for venues of that type: declining attendance and interest. One of several moves to counteract that trend was construction of the Skylift. The Skylift is a level chairlift, rising 20 feet above the ground, and carrying riders about 1000 feet. It is a simple cable suspended twin-chair, with access at both ends.
