This beautiful multi-war Veterans Memorial is located at North Oak Trafficway and Vivion Road, in the Anita B. Gorman Park, in Kansas Cities Northland area. Sovereign Wings, the bronze eagle statue, was located on the Clay County Courthouse steps in Liberty, MO before it was moved to it's new home at the Anita B. Gorman Park, as part of the Veterans Memorial, in 2003. The memorial honors Clay County veterans that served in the Civil War, WWI, WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War, Gulf War and the Iraq War.
While in the park be sure to take the short walk, on the paved sidewalk, to the Northland Fountain. It is 80 feet in diameter and has multiple jets that shoots water up to 35 feet in the air.
