These sundews are extremely common throughout the Panhandle of Florida. These were found while I was walking to a nearby Geocache. I was heading down an abandoned powerline road when I noticed the ground had suddenly turned red. There were thousands of tiny sundews growing in the surrounding area but they were thickest on the soggy road. They were so thick there was no place to put my feet down without stepping on them!
I ID these as Drosera capillaris. This population has white flowers instead of the more typical pink.
There is a housing development going in nearby, but due to the powerline, this spot should be spared from getting a house built on it. Although the powerline road is no longer driveable,
access should always be available by following the powerline from where it crosses the residential streets.
