The cruise starts from Glenridding village at the S.end of the lake, sailing to Howtown roughly midway, then to the far N.E. end of the lake to Pooley Bridge.
Many walkers will walk from Glenridding to Howtown and catch the steamer to Pooley Bridge or back to Glenridding making for a superb day amongst the Lake District Mountains.
Passengers have the option of sitting inside or braving the cold if traveling at low season and sitting on the out decks.
As many walkers use this service lots of them have canine companions with them, as we do,there is a small charge of £1 for dogs.
