This is the home of the Cal Bear footbal team and the heart of "blue and gold" country. It is located on top of the Hayward Fault, and one can see evidence of shifting in the building.
Recently the proposed expansion of the stadium facility has sparked a dramatic controversy and protests as the university intends to remove an historic oak grove which may also be a Native American burial site.
