Not much information seems to exist about this bridge. Some information says that this is going to be used as the entrance to a park that is soon to be developed, others say that it WAS the entrance of a now abandoned park here. The bridge itself is marked with "No Trespassing" signs, but it is very close to the road, so it's easily viewed. There is room to pull off the road directly in front of the bridge, or a small building across the street has paved parking.
It is obvious that it was originally used for vehicular traffic (likely horse and buggy, then eventually automobiles), as a crossing over the Olentangy River. Much of the wooden decking has rotted, and fallen into the river, but the main iron structure is still there. The bridge was built by the Wrought Iron Bridge Co. and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
