The Shrine Hotel is a great place to spend the night. Great value and a very peaceful location.

The Shrine Hotel is on the grounds of the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville, Illinois. Right next to the hotel is a large children's playground with equipment and a splash fountain. Across the driveway is the visitors center with restaurant and gift shop. The hotel has 78 rooms and personal staff. I have stayed here many times, including the night before and after my wedding.

It is on the grounds of the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows with its church, shrine, stations, resurrection garden, mosaics, etc.
Justification for Recommendation:
This is a simple, but clean and nice hotel. No frills and no mints on your pillow. Oh wait, you do get a mint on your pillow when you check in. No pool or sauna or fitness room. Just a clean, comfortable place to stay.
