This futuristic structure is the Main Shrine at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville, Illinois.

This shrine was built in the early 1960s and has many interesting features. The three arms that go up to the steeple represent the letter "M" for Mary. There is a teardrop that comes down from the spire that represents the Holy Spirit. Under this shrine are two chapels and large mosaics of the stations of the cross.
