This stone trimmed brick courthouse stands in large square near the historic center of Red Cloud, Nebraska. Willa Cather, a Red Cloud native, used the courthouse as the setting for immigrant trials in her Pulitzer Prize novel, 'One of Ours"

The opening of Chapter IX, Book One, "One of Ours"
"One bright June day Mr. Wheeler parked his car in a line of motors before the new pressed-brick Court house ....... The Court house stood in an open square, surrounded by a grove of cotton-woods."
