Long Description:
Built in 1887 and dedicated on November 18, 1887, the observatory
featured an eight-inch refracting telescope built by Alvan Clark
and Sons of Cambridge, Massachusetts, then the world's premier
telescope company. After the whole structure was moved in 1991, the
telescope was fully restored. It is still in use by the Syracuse
University astronomy students. Good for another 100 years!
