Located at the house on top of a hill, Powder Springs Rd just east of GA 360 junction. From 360, turn on to John Ward Rd and then right in to the shopping Center, then left on to a small drive off the shopping center entrance and up the hill.

Wm. G. McAdoo's


The house atop hill was one of few battlefield houses surviving military operations of the Kennesaw Campaign.

McAdoo ownership was Jan. 6, 1863 - Feb. 3, 1864. Here, Oct. 31, 1863 was born the Hon. Wm. G. McAdoo, Secy. of the Treasury, 1913 - 1918; Candidate Dem. presidential nomination; 1924, 1828. U.S. Senator, California, 1933-1939.

Place was named MELORA during McAdoo occupancy. S.B. Oatman owned it at time of Battle of Kolb's Farm.
