Phoenix Pastifico - Berkeley, California - Noodle Shops on Waymarking.com

Phoenix Pastifico sells a couple of dozen varieties of fresh made and cut pasta as well as ravioli, fabulous rustic olive bread, delectable sauces, and pastries. They have wonderful seasonal offerings such as meyer lemon and orange-fennel pasta. They supply to numerous fine restaurants throughout the Bay Area and sell at local farmers markets. Their shop located next to Strawberry Creek Park is also open M-F during regular business hours for walk-in retail, and they enjoy personal visits.
Phoenix used to be located up on Shattuck in the gourmet ghetto, but were forced out of their lease (an entire gossipy story here). Now they are in a less central location, but that's no excuse to miss them. Parking can be difficult in this neighborhood, but it's not impossible. Access the park from Addison Street. Look for the signs for Cafe Zeste, a lovely restaraunt next door to Phoenix.
BTW: This place is one of the reasons the lister moved back to the Bay Area from the midwest. I'd say it was not your mama's pasta shop, but my mama loves it, too.
