The Old School at Yealand Conyers provides good hostel facilities that are ideal for groups. It is provided by the local Society of Friends (Quakers) on a non-profit making basis. Sited in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with easy access from the M6 and plenty of excellent local walks, attractions, and close to the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales.

The charges for overnight accommodation are very reasonable. Clean and comfortable with full central heating, the hostel offers good self-catering accommodation at very reasonable prices. Groups up to about 30 in number can be taken. For small groups there is a minimum charge. The wardens live nearby.

Elfrida Vipont Foulds (visit link) became a teacher and was Head of this school during the Second World War.
