Red Mountain is located just south of downtown Birmingham, Alabama. The area features Vulcan Park which is home to a statue of Vulcan, the largest cast irn statue in the world. Visitors can enjoy a grand view of Birmingham from the two overlooks in the park or they can take an elevator to the statue's observation balcony. The park overlooks are free, but there is a $6.00 admmission to the Vulcan Statue's observation balcony. The statue was built in 1904 and stands 56-feet tall and is perched atop a 124-foot pedestal making if visible throughout much of the Birmingham Area.
