South Holston Lake-Underwood Branch TVA-SHSR 71 - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

Survey disc is set in a concrete post up the Southern bank Underwood Branch. The sign was visible but only because the leaves are still off the trees. The post is hidden under forest debris.
This was a pretty tough clime

TVA Surveyor emailed and informed me:
"This is a silt range monument set by TVA before the reservoir was built. They established these monuments before the reservoir was filled with water to estimate the amount of silt that would fill the reservoir over the years."
