A traffic cam visible online through the Oregon Department of Transportation website. Do not stop on the freeway for this waymark!

Oregon has a substantial network of traffic cams covering the entire state. This one is for I-5, a few miles south of the state capitol. The good thing is the installation also has a fully automatic weather station. The bad thing is that this cam is only updated at roughly half hour intervals (the range seems to be 20 to 45 minutes) and that it takes more than 10 minutes for a new pic to appear online. I was considering using this for a puzzle cache, but it seemed cruel.
AFAIK there is no direct link to this, so you have to navigate through the ODOT site. Click on the URL below, then click on the green "Trip Check" on right center. Click into the NW quadrant (but not directly on Portland or Salem), then at the very bottom of the map there is a black icon like a camera. Click on that, and you will get this webcam, which includes the (somewhat) current weather. Clicking on the blue flag across the highway gets you the weather without the picture. For the first two hours or so after sunset you have the option of a current shot (virtually useless) or the last shot in daylight.
The location given is on the frontage road to the east of the freeway. Because it is so difficult to get in a webcam shot here, I will allow two ways to log the visit: either do the normal getting in the webcam shot (difficult), or take a pic of yourself or the GPSr in front of the actual tower about 100 feet northeast. Visits with pictures taken while on the freeway will be deleted without mercy.
