El Morro is one of those places that is off the beaten track and little visited which after you've been there you say, "What a neat place!" A water hole that was used from prehistoric times to modern times, where travelers have left their mark, whether it be a petroglyph or an inscription. The first part of the 2 mile trail encompasses the "inscription trail" where, after stopping at a pool of water, they left their mark.
