"One More River to Cross".
Those words must have sounded like heaven, but the river to cross was the Niagara River. At a point in Buffalo, New York, where many a slave ended up, they could see freedom on the other side....Fort Erie, Ontario. But it must have been so difficult. This is where all the waters from four of the Great Lakes converge into one river...The Mighty Niagara River. But, if you've struggled to make it this far, what's one more river to cross?????
To get to Wilma's Point. A place directly across from the Broderick Park on Bird Island, in Buffalo where they left from.
To leave behind America and hope for freedom in Canada.
