Beneath this marker lies the Bi-centennial time capsule buried Sept. 11, 1976 and it is to be opened at the tri-centennial activities held in July 2076.

The time capsule is on the property of the Jasper County Courthouse in historical downtown Rensselaer, next to a memorial for Jasper County Military Veterans and beneath a high flying flag for the State of Indiana.
