First Flight - 17 March 1979
This was the second Challenger prototype. It was used exclusively for testing purposes even after delivery to Aerospace Engineering and Test Establishment at CFB Cold Lake, Alberta on 29 February 1988.
It was designated CX-144A after delivery, due to difference in configuration from the standard CC-144A. That non-standard configuration, reportedly made it unpopular with AETE.
