This depot was constructed around 1880. It served the East Tennessee Virginia & Georgia Railroad. The ETV&G was formed in 1869 in Tennessee. In 1895 it merged with the Richmond & Danville Railroad to form the Southern Railroad. Many changes and mergers have happened over the years. The passenger and freight depot now sits empty with no rails to serve. No historical markers are displayed at the depot and not much can be found on the web. A trip to the library or historical society is needed. I'll post more information as I run across it.
