Originally a southern tribe, the Tuscarora suffered at the hands of white settlers and eventually migrated north and joined the Five Nations. Their reservation, founded in 1803, was comprised of lands from the Senecas', the Holland Land Co., and Federal Lands. The coordinates for the sign are at the southeast corner of the nation on Hwy 31. Just up the road a local Native American businessman has made a fortune selling gas and smokes to all comers, so naturally this is a main entry point.
