Red barn located along side the Etowah River south of Cartersville, Ga. on old Hwy41, The Dixie Highway.

This barn is very well preserved and still has all its doors and window shutters. If you notice along the entire length of this barn it is vented. I have seen a few others of this type, including the Oakman Barn that is listed here. What the purpose is I'm not sure. Cotton and tobacco were the major crops in the area and might have something to do with the design. Also notice all the doors are up off the ground so it probably was not used to house animals or implements. If I find out I will update the description.
This is mining property and is posted no trespassing. The waypoint is a road across the field from the barn. There is a spot you can get closer to the barn, but it is just across the bridge and could pose a problem if your not parked completely off the road. We opted for the safer vantage point. We did get our closeups near the bridge because traffic was slow that day. Be your own judge.
