The most common wagons used for hauling freight back East were the Conestogas, developed in Pennsylvania by descendants of German colonists. There is a Connestoga High School in a neighboring county. There is also an interesting speed limit sign on the driveway along side this property, and an interesting sign up the road that reads, "George Washington never slept here."
