St Annes church is situated on the old Barrow road which connected Barrow in Furness and Haverthwaite,the old road has now been bypassed by a modern road,and the church now sits in isolated seclusion,free from the roar of passing traffic.
St.Annes chapel was built by local subscriptions in 1824/25.
The church became a parish church in 1866
The chapel and the small area of land belonging to the church were consecrated on the 26th.August 1825 by the Bishop of Chester.
