This is one of a series of markers along the boundary of the old Baca Location #1 land grant, most of which is now the Valles Caldera National Preserve. The portion of the Baca grant to the west of this marker is now part of Bandelier National Monument. To the east of the marker is US Forest Service land.
From Los Alamos, drive west on state road 4 to about 3/4 mile past the county line. Park at 35° 50.47'N, 106° 24.14'W, then hike east on the remains of an old road to the boundary fence. The marker is set in a round concrete cylinder directly under the fence where it crosses the road. There is an orange USFS property boundary marker serving as a witness post next to it, which should make it easy to find. The marker is set right on the Los Alamos/Sandoval county line.
