Long Description:The sculpture itself features a dying bison on its back, an eagle
with broken wings trying to take flight and the faces of a Native
American man and woman. It was the 10th such statue Toth carved in
what became a 20-year journey throughout the country; carving and
donating at least one in each in all 50 states and a few in Canada.
"The statue is not just to honor Native Americans; it's to
represent all people who have suffered injustices," Toth said.
The statue was carved from an "ear tree," (Enterolobium
Cyclocarpum ) the wood of which Toth described to be much like
mahogany.
