If you can tear your eyes away from the 2-story chocolate waterfall and keep moving past the bins filled with wonderful candy, in the back of the Albanese Candy Factory's Outlet Store a guest will find a bank of windows to view the factory operations.
A wheelchair accessible ramp leads up to the first window where the visitor can push a button and watch a brief video to learn what is on the factory floor. Several other stations along the path provides information on different areas of operation.
Once you have finished your self-guided tour, you may pick and choose what you have learned was made here, but that is the hard part. There is so much to choose from. Do you start with the flavorful gummi candies or the decadent chocolates? Still having trouble choosing? Reasonable requests for a taste sample are honored.
The best times to visit the tour are weekday daylight hours when the factory is in full swing, otherwise it is hit-or-miss seeing the floor in operation. However the videos are usually available most of the time. On our visit on a Sunday, the videos were turned off because the Easter Bunny was using the space for photo opportunites.
The candy outlet is open Monday - Saturday from 9-8 and on Sunday from 10-6.
Photos and movies of the factory floor and videos are not permitted!
