Groundbreaking for our library was in December 2003 on the former Richman's Ice Cream site. (Great ice cream!). The current library building was completed in December 2004 to replace a 1966 structure just northeast of the same location.

This library is a multi-media city. It is cavernous. I used to go to the old library in the early 70s when it was still brand new. It was constructed one year before I moved to Cherry Hill. This library is amazing! I do miss the old comforts of the previous building but this one has every amenity. There is a coffee shop, free WiFi, 125,000 books, 7,000 videos and DVD's, 7,000 CD's and cassettes, 16,000 reference books and 600 periodical subscriptions (automated using the Sirsi system.) Special programs are conducted throughout the year by the Children's Department and Information Services staff. Of the three levels, we have used the all.

The lower level is where they hold their book sales, have meetings and the themed monthly lego afternoon (Saturday) with the kids. The middle floor has the circulation department, computers, private rooms, couches, and lots of books. The upper level holds the children's area and a nice place to relax and do homework after a long day at elementary school

The librarians are very nice and helpful as well. There is a separate information desk and a huge work area (where I am right now writing up this waymark!). All in all, this library is a home away from home (400 feet away!) and just be sure to be QUIET!!!!
