People come from all over the world to visit Kanchanaburi and see the Bridge On the River Kwai. Most will ride the train up the Death Railway. And while strolling through town to see the many memorials and museums they will ultimately get to the War Cemetery where most of the POWs are laid to rest. But the really intrepid visitor will also wander around the corner and through the impressive gateway into the town's Chinese cemetery. This cemetery has no connection to the war and yet many who come to research the war come here to admire the ornate beauty of the monuments. The neat rows of graves all numbered on the back and highly decorated across the front. There are approximately 3,800 graves in this cemetery.
