Long Description:
The present Middleport post office was built in 1940 at 42 Main Street as a WPA project.
The new Post Office replaced the Universalist Church Social Hall, the trolley depot and a small home that had been the parsonage of the Methodist Church.
The building was placed on the National Historic Register in 1989.
