A walk around Smithville Lake, in historic Smithville, New Jersey, has been made possible, and beautiful by the Burlington County Park System. With series of footbridges, spanning the swampy, marshy areas around the lake, the park system has developed a wonderful hiking trail.
This waymark is on one of the metal footbridges, just past the long floating footbridge. This one spans another swampy cove, and brings hikers either to an elevated exit area, or to another bridge back over the swamp.
The hiking path itself is mostly packed dirt, and can get wet. There are numerous boardwalk type viewing areas around the lake as well.
Trail Name: Historic Smithville Park
Approximate Length of Bridge: 15
