Homage To
Francisco I. Madero
(1873-1913)

Born in Parras de La Fuente, Coahuila.  Strong advocator for democracy in Mexico.  Courageously challenged the dictatorship known as 'El Porfiriato'.

While exiled to the United States, on November 20, 1910 proclaimed in San Antonio the 'Plan de San Luis', a  political manifest that launched the Mexican Revolution.

Elected President of Mexico in 1911, the administration of Madero, the 'Apostle of Democracy', ended abruptly on February 9, 1913.

Statue donated by the State of Coahuila, Mexico to the people and the City of San Antonio, Texas. November 16, 2001.
