This memorial tree is located just off of Route 70 East in Cherry Hill, NJ. I have been driving by this tree every day since the 1991 ceremony. It is easy to spot. Just look for the giant sign that says Korean War Memorial Tree.

This is a very interesting waymark to me. The church has been here since the 60's, or since I have lived in Cherry Hill. There was no Korean affiliation in the 60s, 70s or early 80s. When our Korean population exploded in the mid-80s, this church began to have a decided Korean influence. About half a decade later, the memorial was dedicated.

The dedicator is an American who served for our country in Korea. It's nice Koreans who wanted to were able to come to this country, enjoy the freedoms and liberty, celebrate this heritage as their own but still retain their own cultural heritage. The tree is a symbol of that heritage that we also share with the church goers, namely, the Korean War.
