Devil's Bridge is a 3 span medieval arched bridge over the River Lune at Kirkby Lonsdale. It's a popular meeting place to motorbikers on Sundays, picnickers on fine days, visitors at any time. Young and foolish folk jump off the bridge!

The bridge is a very old one, and quite narrow - about the width of one cart. The area by the river is a busy place with tourists, bikers, walkers, divers and dog walkers all enjoying the flow of the river and the old and new bridges.
"Devils Bridge over the river Lune, is associated with a legend that can be found throughout Britain, with minor variations from region to region. A woman who was separated from her cow by the river made a pact with the Devil. He would build a bridge across the river, in return for the soul of the first living thing to cross the bridge. The woman tricked her dog to run across the bridge and the Devil had to be satisfied with an animal soul."

In good weather brave and foolish folk jump off the bridge into the water below. There are limestone ledges projecting out which have to be missed, and the water is only about 6m deep.
A burger van and an ice cream van are usually on the east side and the east side parking is reserved for motorcyclists on Sundays.
