Sandy Bottom Park is a recreation area for all seasons. Richmond Recreation provides swimming lessons to elementary aged children in the summer, there are lifeguards on duty during the summer months with swimming in a designated area. Sandy Bottom Nature Trail offers an easy hike with views of Honeoye Lake outlet. There is a boat launch for small trailered boats, cartop and canoes, but the launch is closed from June 15-Labor Day to the general public because it is used by the Richmond Fire Dept. for lake rescues. (other boat launch is located on E. Lake Road) The launch is maintained during the winter for easy access to the lake for ice fishermen. Honeoye Lake is a great fishing lake with walleye, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and chain pickerel. You will also find bluegill, pumpkinseed, yellow perch and black crappies. The baseball diamond is used by Honeoye Jr. Baseball League and adult leagues in the spring. Honeoye Rotary Club must be recognized for the building of the bathhouse, shuffleboard courts, pavillion and playground. Their most recent project was construction of the skateboard park.
